“My goal is to help technicians have a full understanding of the skills they are performing. Once you learn the ‘why’ the ‘how’ comes naturally!”
Meet Rebecca
Rebecca has been in the eye care business since 2002 years. She started as a front desk employee in a busy ophthalmology clinic, and transitioned to an ophthalmology assistant. She earned her COA in 2008, her COT in 2012 and her COMT in 2020. In 2024 she became an Ophthalmic Coding Specialist.
Rebecca does technician skills assessments, scribe training, new technician training and equipment training for Eye Tech Training. She has worked in a variety of sub specialties including pediatric, retina and cataract.
Her passion is teaching new assistants and technicians on best practices and understanding the reason behind a skill. She feels that having a full understanding of why a certain test is performed is key to become the best technician possible.
She looks forward to teaching the art of the ophthalmic technician trade, educating patients and their families regarding diagnosis and procedures, and how to maintain a positive demeanor throughout their patient work ups.
Rebecca has co-taught workshops at IJCAHPO Annual ACE meetings,
Rebecca is based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
